About the Portal

The Republic of Karelia's official Internet Portal The Official Karelia opened in 1998. The Portal provides representation of the Head of the Republic of Karelia, Government of the Republic of Karelia, authority of the Republic of Karelia on the Internet and is a public official electronic information resource of the Republic of Karelia.

The Official Karelia Portal's feature is publication of the information on bodies of executive, legislative and judicial bodies of the republic and on territorial bodies of federal authorities, institutions of local government.

Considering frontier location of Karelia, as well as its long-term experience of international cooperation, the Portal offers information in Russian, English and Finnish languages. More complete information is found in the Russian-language version of the Portal.

The Republic of Karelia's official Internet Portal is a part of the system of official information electronic resources of the republic, alongside with the Portal of the Government Services and such specialized sites as The Government Order of the Republic of Karelia, The Republic of Karelia for Investors, Web-Portal for the SMEs of the Republic of Karelia, etc.

The main page of the Portal is divided into three logic blocks: the left column contains information on bodies of the government, local self-government and basic lines of their activity, the central column contains the news line, and the right column offers information for target groups and provides feedback with the users.

The Portal has the developed database of statutory acts of the Republic of Karelia, the bank of photo- and video-materials, video-blog of the Head of the Republic of Karelia, the calendar of memorable days, and the 'virtual reception room'.

On use of information published on the Republic of Karelia's official Internet Portal

Reproduction of information published on the Portal (as well as citation of information published on the Portal in mass-media) is permitted only with the reference to the source (in the network mass media — hyperlink to the corresponding electronic resource). Making any additions, distortions, or omitting a part of information twisting the meaning of the reproduced (quoted) information is forbidden.
