A meeting of Head of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen with Karel Charanza, Consul General of Czech Republic in St.Petersburg, took place in the Government of the republic on December, 18.
Matters at the meeting concerned search of opportunities for cooperation between Karelia and Czech Republic in the context of current economic conditions.
Antonín Murgaš, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALTA a.s., and Jaromír Beránek, founder of Mark2 Corporation Czech a.s., have arrived in Karelia with Consul General. ALTA, a.s. works in the sphere of industry and engineering, and Jaromír Beránek's interest within this trip concern development of cooperation and exchange of experience with Karelia in the sphere of tourism.
During the talks Alexander Khudilainen has pointed out that Karelia is open for cooperation and investing.
– We pin our hopes on development of tourism. On results of the year we expect essential increase in inbound tourist traffic in Karelia. At the moment all tourist camps in Karelia are booked for the next 2-3 months, – Alexander Khudilainen has told.
Head of Karelia has left open the possibility of involving foreign investors in another sphere that is also interesting to Czech partners, which is exploitation of mineral deposits in the republic.
On results of the meeting the decision was made to continue negotiations between Czech guests and heads of the Ministry of Nature Management and Ecology of the Republic of Karelia and the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Tourism.
