Ruskeala marble mine park was established through the efforts of enthusiasts at the old marble quarry which in time had turned into a dump. Today is an internationally famous sight sight offering a broad range of services and entertainments. It has everything for comfortable and interesting vacation at any time of the day and of the year.

– Annual growth of tourist traffic in Ruskeala makes about 20%. In 2016 it is supposed to be visited by more than 150,000 tourists, – Alexander Artemyev has told.

Within the framework of the marble mine park development program there will be built additional access roads, a parking lot for 3000 cars will be organized, additional electric energy capacities will be involved, waste treatment facilities will be built, and slopes will be restored.

The Underground Karelia route in old marble adits will be organized. Extraordinarily beautiful marble used for masterpieces of architecture such as Saint Isaac's Cathedral in St.Petersburg was extracted here.

The Underground Karelia route includes adits, labyrinths, the marble mine, and the underground lake where it is planned to go boating, tell about the history of Karelia and the history of mining. "I'm sure that there's no novelty like that even in Europe. There may be equivalents, but there's no marble world compared to this one," – Alexander Artemyev has mentioned.

On his words, today the marble mine park works out of its own profits, although financial support and assistance of the federal and local authorities is required for successful implementation of the program of development.
