On February 14th, Alexander Khudilainen, the Head of Karelia, Rashid Nurgaliyev, the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council,
and Valentina Pivnenko, the State Duma deputy, opened a new sports and recreation center priced at more than 76 million rubles in Suojarvi.
The center was built as a part of the implementation of the Federal Target Program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation for 2016-2020."
The total area of the facility is almost 1500 meters.
"Over the past years, Suojarvi has received a number of gifts, and I hope that this increases the optimism and good mood of the residents of the city and the region.
Not long ago we built a modern boiler house. What is happening today is an important event for the whole Republic, the opening of one more sports and recreation center,
which was built within a very short time," Alexander Khudilainen said.
Rashid Nurgaliyev, the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council, expressed his gratitude towards the Head of the Republic for the joint work and wished success
to the local residents:
"This sports and recreation complex will give a new impulse to the life of the city and the region, and will kick off sports for many children. Enjoy sports and invite as many
friends as possible to this gym."
Rashid Nurgaliyev handed over balls and sets of uniforms from the football club Dynamo and the Russian national volleyball team to the children.
The opening of the sports and recreation center became a great event for the city: young residents of Suojarvi delivered exhibition athletic and artistic performances.
The symbolic red ribbon was cut by the best sportsmen of the region.
The new sports center includes a multi-functional gaming and training gym and a specialized gymnasium. Both sports school pupils and everyone who wants to will
train at the center.
Right after the festive opening of the sports center, futsal and basketball competitions began there.
