Today, the S7 Airlines plane landed at Petrozavodsk Airport, and was the first flight of the airlines on the Moscow-Petrozavodsk route.
S7 Airlines is one of the largest airlines in Russia, and with its advent in the Republic, the air communication in Karelia, certainly, goes
to whole new level of development. It was noted by Artur Parfenchikov, the Acting Head of Karelia, who came from Moscow on the first flight of S7 Airlines.
According to him, the appearance of a well-known airline in Karelia will make air communication among the residents of the Republic more popular, as well
as attract new tourists to our region.
"S7 Airlines is a reliable company, which immediately makes Petrozavodsk attractive for a foreign tourist from the air travel point of view, as the are
very demanding of flight safety. The experience of other regions shows that, as soon as a serious airline with good planes appears, tourists start flying
to these regions," said Artur Parfenchikov.
As noted by the Acting Head, the airline's management is currently working on the development of other flights from Petrozavodsk, in addition to flights to Moscow.
With the onset of the summer season, S7 Airlines can launch direct flights from the capital of Karelia to Simferopol.
Even now, thanks to S7 Airlines, residents of Karelia have the opportunity to fly to the southern cities through connecting flights on a single ticket. So, for
example, it will be possible to get to Anapa, Sochi, and Krasnodar. European metropolises will also become more accessible.
Anton Eremin, S7 Group General Director, expressed his confidence that residents of Petrozavodsk and the whole Republic will enjoy air transportation.
"We are pleased to start flights to Petrozavodsk, and we will try to do everything we can to make our route network closer to Karelia. It is not only Moscow,
but also flights over our extensive network from Domodedovo airport, and flights over the network of our partners, members of the oneworld aviation alliance.
Gradually, the company will increase the frequency of flights and try different airliners. I think that the Airbus A319, our new modern liner Embraer 170 will
fly to Petrozavodsk," said Anton Eremin.
Flights to Moscow will be carried out on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Departure from Moscow Domodedovo airport will be at 7:55, and arrival in Petrozavodsk
will be at 9:35. The return flight departs at 10:15 and arrives in Moscow at 11:55. Flights will be carried out on modern comfortable Airbus A319.
"We expect that, starting in August, flights from Petrozavodsk to Moscow will become daily. The ticket price is quite reasonable and is less than 4 thousand rubles,
which is a serious competition to the railway transport," noted Artur Parfenchikov.
