On August 24 and 25, 2018, the guests of the Ruskeala Symphony Festival will watch the performances opera stars, drama productions and exhibitions presenting various Russian
event projects. A large fireworks display will be set off at the end of the second day.
The schedule of the festival events has been presented today at the meeting between the tour operators and the Head of Karelia Arthur Parfenchikov during his working
visit to the city of Sortavala.
According to Karelia's Minister of Culture Alexei Lesonen, this year the festival will take two days and will become much more multifaceted. On August 24 and 25,
the guests of the Ruskeala Symphony Festival will watch the performances of opera stars from Russia, Argentina, China, Finland, as well as several jazz collectives
and the Valaam Monastery Choir. The second stage will be given to drama productions and the third one will present various Russian event projects with the best
project chosen on the second day. The festival will close with a fabulous fireworks display.
Arthur Parfenchikov said that such a large-scale event, which is expected to be attended by some distinguished guests, requires very careful preparation.
The development of Ruskeala Mountain Park will include organizing a parking space for 700 cars and 30 buses. Transfers for the guests will be organized from St. Petersburg,
Petrozavodsk and Sortavala, with ticket sales starting on June 15, 2018.
Ruskeala management is planning to open new tourist trails and playgrounds, as well as upgrade the entry zone and the parking space.
For the past two years, Ruskeala Mountain Park has attracted more than 250 thousand tourists a year. Making Ruskeala a year-round tourist destination will help to
increase this number to more than 400 thousand tourists a year.
