Chinese company JS-Power will supply new equipment to the Pitkyaranta pulp mill “RK-Grand”

On July 3, the parties signed a cooperation agreement at the enterprise. RK-Grand investments in this project will amount to 500 million rubles.

"RK-Grand" is implementing the Environmental Efficiency Improvement Program. Within two years, the plant plans to replace the old equipment with the new, Chinese one, which will ensure purification of incoming gases at the level of 99.6%. These parameters are guaranteed to meet the requirements of Rosprirodnadzor.

Over the past few years, the management of the Pitkyaranta Pulp Mill has been paying particular attention to reducing emissions during production activities.

Thus, during 2016-2021, within the framework of the production modernization program, the projects that significantly reduce fuel oil consumption, decrease emissions of sulfur compounds and methylmercaptan were implemented. It provided significant reduction of environmental impact. In particular, two multi-fuel boilers operating on biofuel were built, the boilery was modernized with introduction of modified pulping technology. Currently, the enterprise complies with all established environmental standards.

— Replacement of the electrostatic precipitators of the soda recovery boilers is an important step in development of the plant and our industry as a whole. New technologies contribute to increased efficiency and productivity, and it is important to note that the new electrostatic precipitators will help to significantly reduce the volume of emissions into the atmosphere, thereby preserving the ecology of the region, — commented the Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov.

JS-Power will involve its specialists to work on the project. This large company in the Asia-Pacific region has successful experience of working with the Russian enterprises in the electric power industry. Such equipment has not been supplied to the enterprises of the pulp and paper industry of our country yet, so the project in Karelia will be a pilot project for Russia.
