SPIEF - 2024. Six processing plants for granite goods production are planned to be built in Karelia

The goods from the Karelian gabbro-diabase will be supplied to all regions of Russia. A cooperation agreement for the investment project implementation was signed on June, 6 between the Government of the Republic of Karelia and the Management Company “BIOEN” at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

It is the second joint project of the region with the group “BIOEN”.

– In February 2024, the first interregional offset contract for the supply of crushed stone was concluded with the Moscow City Government and the OOO “Bioen Trade”. The contract worth more than 61 billion rubles entered the top ten largest purchases in the history of the modern contract system, – said the Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov.

Currently, within the framework of the offset contract, the investor, the company OOO “BIOEN TRADE”, plans to develop production in Karelia.

– The signed Agreement provides for the additional capacities construction. We will build six processing plants in Karelia for production of granite goods from the Karelian gabbro-diabase, which we will supply to all regions of Russia, – said Oleg Maksimov, the General Director of the OOO “Management Company “BIOEN”.

Besides, the investor plans to create an enterprise for production of high-gravel, which will be supplied to the Moscow municipal services complex within 10 years.

The head of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, emphasized the new investment project importance.

– We get quite a serious taxpayer in Karelia. The location for the enterprises has already been determined. The company is also our important social partner. The opening of the factories will allow development of those settlements where the enterprise will conduct its activities, – Artur Parfenchikov emphasized.

Let us remind that the Karelian granite has a number of advantages. They are low water absorption, high viscosity and frost resistance. And the strength characteristics of the Karelian crushed stone let it make roads more durable and reduce road surface rutting.
