On July 10, as part of the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM-2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia presented a rating of the efficiency of regional executive authorities in the industrial sector for 2022. The Republic of Karelia entered the top 20 most efficient industrial regions, retaining its 17th position in 2021.
The purpose of the rating is to determine industrial growth points, to share experience in the best regional practices, and to identify the weaknesses and strengths of the regions in order to form an integrated approach to further industrial development.
The regional teams work was evaluated according to five blocks of indicators. Despite the strengthened sanctions regime of the Western countries, which affected the production activities of many Karelian enterprises, the Republic of Karelia entered the top 20 most efficient industrial regions, retaining the 17th place taken in 2021.

The industrial technopark “Yuzhnaya Promzona”, included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, operates in the republic. Construction of the industrial technoparks “Karelskiye Producty” in Petrozavodsk and “Onezhskiy” Kondopoga is underway. We should also mention active work of the regional Industrial Development Fund, which, at the end of 2022, provided financial support to 15 industrial enterprises in the form of grants and concessional loans for a total of 402 million rubles, - said the Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Republic of Karelia Oleg Ermolaev.
