The Federation Council adopted a resolution “On State Support for the Social and Economic Development of Karelia”

On December 11, the 581st meeting of the Federation Council was held, where the senators unanimously supported the revised draft resolution “On State Support for the Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia”. It includes all the objects presented by Artur Parfenchikov as part of the Regional Days on November 25-27, 2024.

Thanks to the senators' decision, the projects will be able to receive federal funds for their implementation. The resolution includes:

- transport infrastructure facilities: construction of a reinforced concrete bridge across the Logmozersky Strait in the Solomennoye district and reconstruction of Dostoevsky Street with the construction of a tunnel under the railway tracks along Khalturin Street in Petrozavodsk;

- educational facilities: construction of new schools in the capital of Karelia and the village of Salmi in the Pitkyaranta district;

- sports facilities: construction of the Physical Culture and Health Complex for Taekwondo and reconstruction of the Central Republican Stadium “Spartak”;

- cultural objects: reconstruction of the buildings of the National Museum and the Karelian State Philharmonic;

- housing and communal services project: construction of new water treatment facilities in Segezha.

The adopted resolution recommends that the Russian Government include projects in the relevant state programs for further co-financing.
