Karelia plans to increase volumes of mutual trade with Vietnam
Interaction issues were discussed at a meeting with the Russian Trade Representative in Vietnam.
The Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Republic of Karelia Oleg Ermolaev took part in the meeting in the format of "An Hour with the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam" Vyacheslav Kharinov. This event is continuation of the work that the Ministry is carrying out to bring the products of the Karelian exporters to the markets of the countries friendly to the Russian Federation.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of the Karelian export-oriented enterprises of the woodworking and food industries, which plan to develop foreign trade relations with this country. The issues of logistics, payments, organization of communication with the Vietnamese partners were discussed.
As practice shows, online joint meetings with the trade missions of the Russian Federation abroad make it possible to find out the peculiarities of doing business in a particular country, identify nuances in logistics and organization of money transfers for trade operations, as well as lay the groundwork for organizing participation of the Karelian exporters in the events they are interested in on the territory of the friendly countries.
“At the beginning of this year, we conducted a survey among the Karelian exporters on the most attractive countries for development of foreign trade relations. Vietnam turned out to be among the most demanded, so we started our work with the trade missions from this country. I am sure that there is a great potential for mutual trade development with Vietnam, which we need to use. Further, we plan to organize joint meetings with the Russian trade representatives in Algeria, South Africa, Brazil, and other countries,” Oleg Ermolaev said.
