Karelia became one of the best in the country in achieving the indicators of the national project “Safe and High-Quality Roads”
As Artur Parfenchikov noted, thanks to the national project initiated by the Russian President Vladimir Putin, the republic reached an all-time high in 2023 in repair, construction and accumulation of the funds for the road network development.
The award ceremony took place the day before as part of the Transport Week at the meeting on the results of implementation of the national project “Safe and High-Quality Roads”. A symbolic “Golden Road Roller” and a diploma for the entire team of the Republic of Karelia were presented to the Prime Minister Alexander Chepik by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin for achieving the best indicators of the national project “Safe and High-Quality Roads”.
“We have a good tradition of summing up the results of the work on the national project and awarding the industry leaders. Moreover, some regions have been awarded for several years now, as they manage to maintain high performance indicators. Thus, the road rollers for achieving the best indicators of the national project this year are awarded to the Arkhangelsk, Belgorod, Tambov, Kurgan, Leningrad, Saratov regions, the city of Sevastopol, the Chechen Republic, the Republic of Karelia and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. Formation of a comfortable, safe urban environment, as well as development of agglomerations are the key tasks of the Russian Construction Complex. We are fulfilling the task set by the President: we are annually increasing the volume of the work performed. Due to advanced financing and despite all the difficulties, the road industry continues to gain momentum and demonstrate even better results, ensuring an increase in the quality of life of the Russians,” noted Marat Khusnullin.
Let us remind, that Karelia hit an all-time high this year in repair, construction and accumulation of funds for the road network development.
- Thanks to the “Safe and High-Quality Roads” project, we were able to repair a large number of roads and bridges throughout the republic. It would have been difficult to implement all these projects without the federal support. This year alone, according to the national project, we put in order 360 km of our roads (for comparison, this is 18 times more than in 2017), - noted the Head of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov and thanked the specialists and road workers who cope with the assigned tasks and volumes.
Thanks to the well-coordinated work with the federal colleagues, the republic participates in all relevant programs, successfully attracting funds for the road network development, which allowed for a record increase in funding, from 3,6 billion to more than 13 billion rubles.
Today, work is being carried out throughout Karelia. Roads are being repaired at a faster pace, new facilities are being built, bridges are being reconstructed, and the infrastructure for road traffic safety is being improved. Special attention is paid to the northern regions and areas with dense individual housing development.
