The emergency housing resettlement program in Karelia is entering the final stretch
This week, the handover of the keys of another new building constructed according to the emergency housing resettlement program of the national project "Housing and the City Environment", will begin.
In Karelia, it remains to solve the issue of relocation of 117 apartments of the houses recognized as emergency until January 1, 2017. Overall, 3,768 apartments are included in the current program. 2,824 of them have already been resettled.
Construction of 500 more apartments is ongoing in the different settlements of Karelia: 155 – in Suoyarvi, 18 – in Shuya, 81 – in Kondopoga, 28 – in Lakhdenpokhya, and 103 – in Sortavala.
In Sortavala, a 115-apartment house in str. Oktyabrskaya was put into operation for the settlement of emergency housing. The handover of the keys will begin this week, after the transfer of all apartments to the administration happens.
In Petrozavodsk, the settlement of the houses in street Borovaya continues, where other 236 families should move out of emergency housing. All apartments are at the reporting stage.
Besides, purchase of housing in the secondary market and compensations payment are ongoing.
“We are nearing the finish line for resettlement of housing recognized as emergency by January 1, 2017,” noted the Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Utilities and Energy Viktor Rossypnov.
The current program is planned to be completed two years earlier than scheduled, at the end of 2023 instead of 2025.
The national project “Housing and City Environment” is implemented on the initiative of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
