Karelia is once again among the best regions in implementing the national project “Safe High-Quality Roads”

The award was presented to the Head of the Republic Artur Parfenchikov and the Karelian team at the International Forum “Transport of Russia” in Moscow by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin. The Republic of Karelia was awarded a diploma for a high level of executive discipline in the national project “Safe High-Quality Roads” implementation in 2024. The awarding ceremony took place on November 20 in Moscow as part of the International Forum “Transport of Russia”. The award was presented to the Head of the Republic and the Karelian team by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Marat Khusnullin. This year, thanks to the national project “Safe High-Quality Roads”, more than 200 kilometers of the regional highways were put into operation in Karelia. The work was completed on reconstruction of the bridge across the Shuya in the Suoyarvi District at the 114th kilometer of the Petrozavodsk-Suoyarvi highway, the overpass on the approach to Impilahti and the bridge across the Verkhnyaya Sedoksa in the settlement of Rypushkalitsy on the Olonets-Pitkyaranta-Leppyasilta highway. Reconstruction of the bridge in the settlement of Shuya was also completed. All structures have received positive assessments and have been put into operation. The Dolmatovo-Nyandoma-Kargopol-Pudozh, Vidlitsa-Kinelahta-Vedlozero roads, and the approach to the village of Kudama were repaired ahead of schedule. The largest volumes of work were completed this year in the Olonetsky, Pitkyarantsky, Pudozhsky, Kondopozhsky and Pryazhinsky districts. In Petrozavodsk, 11 objects with a total length of 12 kilometers were repaired under the national project. Among the most significant ones was the repair of the road surface on the Gogolevsky overpass, Melentyevoy Street and Komsomolsky Avenue. Also in 2024, Petrozavodsk began repairing the Lobanovsky Bridge across the Lososinka, located on Marshala Meretskova Street. The work of the regions was assessed based on a number of criteria. They were achievement of performance indicators for the road activity programs implementation, executive and financial discipline, quality of the projects implementation, as well as organization of information support and public control systems. In his speech, Marat Khusnullin emphasized that the national project “Safe High-Quality Roads” finished this year. - This is one of the most recognizable national projects, it is well appreciated by the residents of the country. Thanks to the systematic support and constant attention of the President of the country, the Chairman of the Government, joint work with the Federation Council, the State Duma, systematic staff work of the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Finance and the regional teams, we succeeded. Over 150 thousand km of roads have been built, reconstructed and repaired in six years. The road network of 105 largest urban agglomerations has been brought into line with the regulatory standards. Since 2018, almost 1 billion square meters of asphalt concrete have been laid. It is a huge volume of work performed. I do owe a lot of thanks to all workers of the transport industry. In general, we managed to cope with all the tasks, - noted the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government. Let us recall that last year Karelia was also awarded a high prize for achieving the targets set for the national project “Safe High-Quality Roads”. The Republic received a diploma from the Government of the Russian Federation and a symbolic “Golden Road Roller”. Systematic work on development of the road transport infrastructure, as the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia noted, will continue within the framework of the new national project “Infrastructure for Living”, which will start in 2025.
