An agreement on cooperation between a Karelian company and the partners from Uzbekistan was signed at an international forum
On October 22, as part of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Karelia to Uzbekistan, the Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov took part in the 6th International Mining and Metals Forum "UIMF-2024". Speaking at the plenary session, the head of the region introduced the participants and guests of the forum to the rich natural resources of Karelia and the prospects for international cooperation in this industry. Then the cooperation agreement was signed.
The forum in Tashkent is a major platform for dialogue between experts and participants of the international market, for business communication and exchange of information between mining and metallurgical companies. The International Exhibition “Mining, Metallurgy and Metalworking” is also traditionally held within the framework of the forum. This year the exhibition was held for the 18th time.
The Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov spoke at the opening ceremony of the forum. He introduced the participants and guests to the natural resources of Karelia, mineral wealth, told about their uniqueness and assured potential investors of the republic’s readiness to develop cooperation ties between industrial enterprises and to provide investors with all necessary assistance in implementing projects.
- Thanks to the region’s rich natural resource potential, the mining and industrial complex has taken a leading position in the industrial structure of the republic. The total share of the enterprises in the field of mineral extraction in the total volume of shipped industrial goods is 36% in money terms. According to the results of 8 months in 2024, the production index for the “Mining” activity reached 101.3% compared to the same period in 2023, - noted Artur Parfenchikov in his speech.
The Karelian companies presented their products at the international forum. OOO “PGMK”, OOO “K-Diamant”, OOO “Petrozavodskmash Gornyje Tekhnologii” presented the economic and industrial potential of the region, and also established contacts with the partners from Uzbekistan.
At the forum, in the presence of the Head of Karelia, an agreement was signed between the OOO “PGMK” and the company “MST Minlash”. Since 2006, it has been one of the most dynamically developing engineering companies in Uzbekistan, which successfully solves complex engineering and technical issues at enterprises in the energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, mining, food, and construction industries.
The director of the company “MST Minlash” Alim Khalimbekov noted that there has been long-standing cooperation with OOO “PGMK”, which resulted in established supplies of equipment for mining and metallurgical plants.
- Today we see reliable partners in our Karelian colleagues. The quality of their products doesn’t cause complaints, - emphasized Alim Khalimbekov.
The signing of the agreement took place as part of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Karelia led by Artur Parfenchikov to Uzbekistan, which is currently taking place.
