In the first half of 2025, the volume of goods exported from Karelia to Uzbekistan increased by 77.4% compared to the same period last year
Today, the dynamic cooperation between the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Uzbekistan is showing significant results. At the initiative of the Head of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, the parties jointly developed an action plan for 2025-2028. Its implementation was discussed at the Second Council of the Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan.
On October 21-22, the Moscow Region is hosting the 2nd Council of the Regions of Russia and Uzbekistan. It is a key platform for discussing interregional cooperation between the two countries. The Russian delegation is led by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov, and also includes representatives from 17 regions. The Karelian delegation is led by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Oleg Ermolaev. It also includes the representatives of the Karelian businesses.
The Council participants will have a busy business program. The key event will be the negotiation with Dilshodbek Karimov, the First Deputy of the Andijan Region Khokim. The business delegations from Karelia and the Andijan Region will also meet for the companies representatives to participate in a contact exchange and agree on future cooperation.
In the course of preparation for participation of the delegations from Karelia and the Andijan region, an Action Plan for 2025–2028 was developed, which was signed by the heads of the regions.
