Russian accommodation booking service Tvil.ru has listed small cities of Russia, which are the most popular tourist destinations for 2019 New Year holidays.
Veliky Ustyug in the Vologda region, Olonets in Karelia, Suzdal in the Vladimir region, Istra in the Moscow region, and Ostashkov in the Tver region are among the top 5 small towns for spending 2019 New Year holidays.
Olonets is known as a hometown of Pakkaine, Karelian Father Frost.
According to Tvil.ru, tourists generally book New Year's trips to Olonets for 3.5 nights, with one family spending 3.6 thousand rubles per day on average for accommodation.
The lowest and the highest accommodation expenses during the New Year holidays are reported for Istra and Suzdal, respectively. The longest and the shortest New Year holidays stay in small cities is recorded in the Moscow region (5 days) and the Vladimir region (3 days), respectively.
